From the opening acoustic guitar strums of the first single released from their eponymously titled second album, “I Wanna Be There,” Blessid Union of Souls continues their Top Forty chart success. Billboard reviewed this song as “a youth-driven smash…a charming declaration of devotion,” and the song received heavy airplay in the early summer months of 1997. Produced and co-written by the bands longtime collaborator Emosia, “I Wanna Be There” was featured in the film “Contact,” starring Jodie Foster.
