Written by Barry Richards, Don Thomas, Jean Thomas FoxThe Sex Pistols hit the international rock scene as Britain’s hottest export in 1977. Although this rowdy quartet never attained superstar status in America, they were at the forefront of the punk rock movement. The Sex Pistols’ first album, Anarchy in the UK, was released in early 1977 and promptly pulled off the market in Britain for being too controversial. Never Mind the Bullocks – Here’s the Sex Pistols, their second album, was released in November of 1977 and entered the UK charts at #1. The band broke up six months later after a disastrous tour of the US. “Don’t Gimme No Lip Child” was released in 1979 as part of the soundtrack to the Sex Pistols movie and album entitled The Great Rock’N’Roll Swindle, a collection of early footage of the band.
