There were three different hit versions of the infectious dance song DANCE WITH A DOLLY (With a Hole In Her Stockin`) in 1944: big band leader Russ Morgan`s, which went to No. 3; songbird Evelyn Knight`s, which climbed to No. 6; and Tony Pastor`s, which peaked at No. 9. In 1952 Bill Haley and the Comets released a terrific rockabilly version of this goodtime dance classic.
