Written by B.G. De Sylva, Bud Green, Ray HendersonALABAMY BOUND appeared in the 1923 Broadway musical Kid Boots, which starred the enormously popular entertainer Eddie Cantor. With music by Ray Henderson and lyric by Bud Green and B.G. DeSylva, Alabamy Bound became one of the most popular songs of the 1920s and was featured in the musical films Show Business, The Great American Broadcast and With A Song In My Heart. Many artists have recorded Alabamy Bound over the years including Al Jolson, Django Reinhardt and Ray Charles. Alabamy Bound appeared in the film and on the soundtrack album of Woody Allen's 1985 movie Purple Rose Of Cairo.
