| Bobby Vinton (b. Stanley Robert Vinton, Canonsburg, PA, April 16, 1935) scored 30 Top 40 hits between 1962 and 1975. His early recordings were aimed at the teen market, but Vinton became a popular singer for adults as well. He starred in his own syndicated TV series from 1975 to 1978. Bobby Vinton's biggest hit was "Blue Velvet," which was originally recorded by Tony Bennett in 1951; Vinton's version of "Blue Velvet" stayed at No. 1 for three weeks in 1963.
