In 1939, THE INK SPOTS scored their first hit with "If I Didn't Care," featuring the falsetto of Bill Kenny set against the tightly-knit harmony of Ivory Watson, and Charlie Fuqua, and Orville "Hoppy" Jones. With this hit, the Ink Spots began a twelve-year stand on the pop charts, leaving a legacy of 50's doo-wop based on their slow-tempo pop, and inspiring the imitators that have since toured using their name.
