| Bix Beiderbecke (b. Davenport, IA, March 10, 1903; d. August 7, 1931) died before he reached the age of thirty, but still became a legend as a virtuoso cornet player, pianist and composer. The 1950 film Young Man With A Horn was based on his life story. Beiderbecke's piano and horn solos are still considered among the finest jazz recordings.
