Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby (b. Tacoma, WA, May 2, 1904, d. Oct. 14, 1977) was the most popular singer in the United States from the 1930s to the 1950s. The star of 58 films and a long-running radio show, he made more than 1,000 recordings, including the world's best-seller, "White Christmas" (1942), of which some 30 million copies have been sold.
