Legendary Painted Desert (SB's BMI affiliate) songwriter June Carter Cash won the Grammy award for best traditional folk album for her recording Press On. Included on this record is her classic "Ring of Fire" . Co-written by Merle Kilgore, this song has long been a standard for Johnny Cash.

A new version of "Ring of Fire" by H-Blockx vs. Dr. Ring-Ding reached no. 13 on the Musikmarkt charts (Germany) during May 2000.

Blessid Union of Souls hit single "Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me)" , which hit #7 on the Billboard pop radio airplay chart, continued to enjoy strong airplay nearly one year after release. The track was included on the multi-platinum album Now 3. Written by SB staff writer/producer Emosia and band members Eliot Sloan and Jeff Pence, the song was featured in an episode of Fox Television's Get Real.

Emosia also co-wrote and co-produced the song, "Brother My Brother" . Performed by Blessid Union of Souls, the track was featured in Pokemon: the First Movie and on its multi-platinum soundtrack.

Brian Setzer recorded "Gettin' In The Mood" , a new lyric version of our classic standard "In the Mood".

Shannon, who helped define the freestyle dance sound of the mid to late 80s, recorded an updated version of her hit "Give Me Tonight". On April 15th, "Give Me Tonight" peaked at #3 on the Billboard hot dance music/club play chart. "Give Me Tonight 2000" was featured along with the Shannon classic "Let the Music Play" and several new cuts on her Contagious Records release, The Best Is Yet To Come.

Our song "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You" was featured in the Broadway show CONTACT, which won three Tony awards in the year 2000, including best musical. We also had songs in Broadway shows that were nominated for Tony awards including:
