In 1939 piano man Meade "Lux" Lewis recorded "Honky Tonk Train" at the
height of a national boogie-woogie craze. British rockers Emerson, Lake &
Palmer reworked the tune in 1976 and retitled it HONKY TONK TRAIN BLUES. [performance by Emerson, Lake & Palmer]
Their recording climbed to #21 on the U.K. pop charts and introduced the
piece to a whole new generation.
