THE FRENCH SONG [performance by Lucille Starr] was a hit in 1964 for songstress Lucille Starr, who also
recorded with her husband Bob Regan as The Canadian Sweethearts. The tune
was based on the song, "When The Sun Says 'Good-Night' To The Mountain."
A MARSHMALLOW WORLD [performance by Brenda Lee] was introduced in 1951 by Bing Crosby, who
took the tune to No. 24 that January. In 1964 teen pop star Brenda Lee recorded the delightful version that's included on this sampler.
Also in 1964, HAVE YOU EVER BEEN LONELY by Caravelles was released in February and reached peak chart position #94.
